When and with whom

I was anxious to resume international travel following two years of the Covid pandemic. Chile turned out to be one of the most strict countries to enter and the hoops were nearly prohibitive to a good time. That said, when we (Scott and I) finally cleared all the hurdles, we were rewarded with low levels of tourists and the best weather the region had experienced all season. March is considered the last month of summer in Chile and, while in the southern Magallanes and Antarctic region of the country, the daylight hours exceeded 14 hours.

The itinerary above reflects how we decided to visit this part of the world under its current restrictions. Had more land borders between Chile and Argentina been open, we would have had a very different route.
