When and with whom
This visit to Egypt was an extension following our safari adventure in Tanzania. Stopping in Egypt broke up the flight time on the way towards home and the climate was not winter like most of Europe is in February. So, it also made clothes packing sense when looking for a logical place to extend our Africa trip.
I traveled with my not-husband, Scott, and my sister, Lisa during this entire 3-week Africa trip. While none of us are ancient history buffs, these iconic places in Egypt were still on our bucket-list to see in-person some day and I’m so glad we did. Seeing them in real life, and in context to the culture around them, makes you even more curious and quizzical than watching anything on the History Channel from the comfort of your own home.
