When and with whom

This bucket-list safari adventure has been a priority since listening to my Grandpa recount how it was his and my late Grandma’s most memorable trip – and they traveled together a lot! Trip research has been underway for years but we ultimately decided on Tanzania because of the greater variety of parks and landscapes. Safari peak season is July – October due to the dry weather causing the legendary great migration of wildebeest and the river crossings. We do not prefer to travel during those months so we opted for the green (but not wet) season in February when the wildebeest are calving. Fortunately, we had fantastic weather AND still saw all the animals.

During this trip I traveled with my not-husband, Scott, and my sister, Lisa. We were also accompanied by two safari guides, Nuryht and Hermedi. After our 11-day safari in Tanzania, Scott, Lisa, and I then traveled up to Egypt to extend our African adventure.
